Warner Records New “Electronic Dance” Label
Warner Records has announced their new “flagship electronic dance music label,” Major Recordings. Headed by current Senior Vice-President of Marketing at Warner Records, Samantha Mobarek, they intend to build on the pillars of talent discovery and artist development within the Electronic music community.
“At Major Recordings, we’re building a roster and team that reflects electronic culture and its roots in collaboration, integrity, inclusivity, and fun. We’re bringing the independent spirit of the genre and giving it the major resources it deserves, supporting the broad spectrum of people who create this sound and the family of fans who love it. Our goal is to collaborate with the most innovative and talented artists on the scene,” said Mobarek, and they even have their first signing.
In partnership with FFRR (Full Frequency Range Recordings, a sub label of Parlophone), Major Recordings signed up-and-coming Electronic duo, PARISI. “PARISI are leaders of the new wave of high quality, innovative production that’s becoming more and more revered en masse,” Mobarek told Digital Music News.
It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this new venture for Warner Music. The Electronic community is more diverse and vibrant than ever so there could be a real opportunity for more of these incredible musicians to be featured on that major label level.
