Parlophone Promotes New GM, Hires new set of A&Rs

Parlophone Records, home of the Beatles, Duran Duran, Coldplay, and more, announced a plethora of new moves for their staff, including a large addition to their team of A&Rs.

Jack Melhuish, who was initially hired as the Director of Marketing, Partnerships, and Strategy in 2018, has been promoted to the label’s new General Manager. Parlophone’s co-president Mark Mitchell stated, “Jack is one of the most dynamic and culturally insightful marketing executives in the industry today. His natural ability to understand artist positioning, narrative, and the streaming ecosystem, makes him an invaluable asset to our artists and the Parlophone label.”

Parlophone also brought on four new A&Rs, all with varying levels of experience, looking for the next big breakthrough. Molly McNulty joins after seven years at Kolbalt Music Publishing. Ariana Logacheva moved over from Universal Music, where she was the senior A&R Manager. Seb Smith joined from Believe Music, where they saw a 35% year-on-year revenue increase from 2021-2022, and Jason Ngimbi joined as a Junior A&R manager from BMG.

I’ve always thought, promoting from the inside is always the best way to fortify the values of your business and your workplace, and when somebody has had the success that Jack Melhuish has had, that decision to promote is a no-brainer, even in my head. The thing I’m always going to be interested in is seeing what comes out of the A&Rs. All four of them have past success with varying skillsets and experience ranges, so I’ll be keenly interested in seeing what comes out of Parlophone this year.
