Things have been moving slowly this year. "Slow motion is better than no motion" but damn it feels slow as hell. I'm looking at this whole Boolah thing and the potential extensions and it's something that's exciting and a new challenge to tackle.
I'm really working in the clothing realm and bringing that side of storytelling into the Boolah brand. I remember wearing the Karmaloop shirts back in high school and seeing these cool designs that told stories with a whole bunch of different imagery. At the same time, I had started taking a screen-printing course for an art class and loved every bit of the process. In the last couple years, I really became engrossed with the conversations old Athletic Ads (Nike/Jordan/Adidas/Puma) created and how they spoke to human needs at it's core and I wanted to really digest that and work it into the psyche of my brand langauge. I've been willing to throw myself into the fire. That's the best way to learn.
Ichiro, like Kobe, played every second like his soul was on fire. No matter the occasion, the ability to play the game was something he never took for granted. Every moment was a fire drill. One of the greatest of all-time.
